Sarah Leslie

M.A., CCC-SLP

Clinical Director

Sarah received her Master's Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Cincinnati in 2011. She is a seasoned SLP with a diverse background, having worked in various settings including schools, Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF), inpatient rehab, and acute care. Sarah holds certifications in AmpCare, MDTP, and SPEAK OUT! She is passionate about her work with patients across the lifespan, with a special focus on geriatric care. She also has experience in multiple managerial roles where she has honed her leadership skills, and takes pride in mentoring students and Clinical Fellows as part of her commitment to the field. Since moving to Washington in 2021 with her husband, attracted by the water and surrounding mountains of the Puget Sound, Sarah spends her leisure time hiking, boating, and exploring new destinations. She is thrilled to bring her expertise and energy to the Harbor Speech Team and is honored to be contributing to and growing with this dynamic group.

Kira Lowrance

Adult Lead SLP

Kira is a speech-language pathologist that is licensed by the state of Washington and certified by the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association. Kira received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at University of Oregon and her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology at Pacific University. Kira has experience working with children and adults with a variety of communication and cognitive impairments and has pursued additional training or experiences in transgender voice modification, the SPEAK OUT! voice program, suicide intervention strategies, teaching English as a foreign language, HIPPA compliance, and autism spectrum disorders. She currently treats clients of all ages at our Gig Harbor clinic.

Erin John

B.S., SLPA

Erin is a certified Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech and Language Pathology and Audiology from Andrews University. She has experience in a vast array of treatments, including phonological processing disorder, articulation delays, fluency, dyslexia, langugage delays, and AAC/non-verbal clients. Erin has been located in the Pacific Northwest for six years, and is pursuing her masters degree in Speech and Language Pathology with an emphasis in social-pragmatic language development for children with Autism. Since earning her degree, she has enjoyed helping children on the Autism spectrum communicate and connect with their families and peers. It is her passion to support growth and development in all areas for her clients, and enrich their quality of life through language.

Brooke Smalley

M.A., CCC-SLP

Brooke is a speech-language pathologist licensed in the state of Georgia and certified by the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association. Brooke received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Disorders at University of Florida and her Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology at University of Kansas Medical Center. Since receiving her degree, Brooke has worked in a variety of adult settings including home health, skilled nursing facilities, level 1 trauma hospitals, as well as acute, inpatient & outpatient rehab hospitals. She is an Adult Neuro Specialist specializing in swallow dysfunction, speech, language, cognitive and voice disorders. Brooke is certified to provide the DriveAble Cognitive Assessment Tool (DCAT) to help individuals measure their driving safety. She is thrilled to be leading Harbor Speech’s new location in the North Georgia area.

Channa Beckman

Channa, Harbor Speech Pathology's founder and CEO, is a Certified Brain Injury Specialist and a Speech-Language Pathologist that is certified by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association and licensed in multiple states. She received her Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from Florida State University. Channa is dedicated to improving the lives of brain-injury survivors. She is a competent and versatile speech-language pathologist with more than 34 years experience; twenty-seven of which have been devoted to the treatment of acquired brain injury. Channa founded Harbor Speech Pathology, started the Gig Harbor Brain Injury Networking Group and has served on the board for the Washington State Speech-Language and Hearing Association. She is known as a professional resource for cognitive rehabilitation and brain injury throughout the Puget Sound region. Channa’s areas of expertise include: brain injury, neurological disorders, swallowing dysfunction, adult speech and language disorders, LSVT, DriveABLE, and Vital Stim. She is dedicated to advocating and providing quality care for all patients across the life span.

Aviana CoCo

Aviana earned her Bachelor's degree in communication sciences and disorders at the University of Maine with minors in disability studies and gender studies. She went on to complete her Master's in communication sciences and disorders at the University of New Hampshire. During her clinical education, Aviana gained experience treating individuals across the lifespan in post-acute rehab, inpatient hospital, and outpatient hospital settings. Aviana has completed additional training including Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) certification, Modified Barium Swallow Impairment Profile (MBSimP) training, and completion of the New Hampshire Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and other Disabilities (NH-LEND) program. Aviana moved to Washington in August of 2022 to experience the beauty and culture that the PNW has to offer, as well as to join Harbor Speech!

Mickenzie Galloway

M.S., CCC-SLP

Mickenzie received her Bachelor's of Science in Communication Disorders at University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and her Master's of Speech-Language Pathology at Emerson College. Mickenzie is a Speech Language Pathologist at Harbor Speech Pathology and has treated patients of all diagnosis and ages in elementary schools, preschools, outpatient clinics and at an in-patient skilled nursing facility and rehabilitation center. Mickenzie has training in Modified Barium Swallow Impairment Profile (MBSImP) and is certified by DriveAble Cognitive Assessment Tool to assess an individual's driving safety. She also wants to expand her education in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) that she enjoyed targeting in her clinical fellowship experience at an integrated preschool and out-patient facility for adults with developmental disabilities. Since graduating with their Master's in December of 2021, Mickenzie and her husband have moved to Washington for work and to experience the PNW. Born and raised in Wisconsin, she enjoys the outdoors, playing with her 2 dogs, volleyball, getting together for game nights, and is hoping to take up some water activities to enjoy everything Washington has to offer!

Courtney Hale

M.S., CF-SLP

Courtney received her Bachelor's of Science in Communication Disorders at Brigham Young University and her Master's of Medical Speech-Language Pathology at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. Courtney is a Clinical Fellow at Harbor Speech Pathology and has gained clinical education while treating patients of all diagnosis and ages at an ENT private practice, schools, and in-patient acute care hospital as well as post-acute care rehabilitation center. Courtney has training in Modified Barium Swallow Impairment Profile (MBSImP), both rigid and flexible scoping, and is certified by DriveAble Cognitive Assessment Tool to assess an individual's driving safety. Since graduating with their Master's, Courtney and her husband have moved to Washington for work and to experience the PNW. As a native from southeastern Idaho she is excited to still be surrounded by mountains, while also being able to explore so much water. Courtney and her husband enjoy playing pickleball, snow skiing, water skiing, hiking, camping, and are excited to continue doing all of those activities in such a beautiful area!
