New Patients
We’re so glad you’re here. Whether you’re seeking services for yourself or a loved one, our team is here to support you every step of the way. Below you’ll find helpful information to get started.
We are a referral-based clinic. If you would like us to bill your insurance, a referral from your physician is required before we can schedule your evaluation. Please have your provider fax referrals to 253-514-8261.
Referrals are not required for private pay services. However, we strongly encourage obtaining one so our clinicians have a more complete understanding of your medical history and concerns prior to your visit.

Getting Started
Scheduling an Evaluation
Once we receive and process your referral, a member of our scheduling team will contact you to set up your initial evaluation.
Your first appointment will be a 60-minute evaluation with one of our licensed Speech-Language Pathologists. During this visit, we will assess your needs and determine the most appropriate plan of care.
Before Your First Appointment
To help your visit go smoothly, please complete the following:
-
Fill out all required patient forms (linked below)
-
Bring your insurance card and photo ID to your appointment
-
For teletherapy appointments:
-
Ensure you have access to Google Meet
-
Test your camera and microphone in advance
-
Join your session from a quiet, well-lit space
-
Insurance Coverage
It is important that all new patients understand their individual benefits. We recommend contacting your insurance provider prior to your first visit to better understand your coverage for speech therapy services.
Insurance plans vary, and coverage may depend on several factors, including:
-
Whether speech therapy is a covered benefit under your plan
-
Visit limits or maximum coverage amounts
-
Specific diagnoses that qualify for coverage
-
Out-of-pocket costs such as co-pays, deductibles, or co-insurance
Understanding your benefits ahead of time can help prevent unexpected costs.
Harbor Speech Pathology accepts most major insurance plans and, as a courtesy, we will verify your benefits prior to your first visit. Please note that verification is not a guarantee of payment, and all services remain the patient’s financial responsibility.
We also accept Auto Insurance and Workers’ Compensation claims.
Private pay options are also available, please call our office at (253) 851-0007 for Private pay rates.
Please note: We do not accept Medicaid plans at this time.
